Full refund within 7 days of purchase if you have not completed a course. After 7 days, or once any course has been completed, the purchase is non-refundable. That is the whole policy; the rest of this page is the detail.
The 7-day refund
- Applies to the annual pass ($299 + GST), single courses ($29 + GST) and company plan seats.
- The 7 days run from the date and time of purchase shown on your order confirmation.
- “Completed a course” means a completion record has been issued for any course on the pass or seat. You can have watched segments and still qualify, as long as no course has been completed.
- The refund is for the full amount paid, including GST, to the card you paid with. It usually shows in 5 to 10 business days depending on your bank.
- When a refund is issued, access ends and any partial progress is discarded.
How to ask
Email hello@builderpass.ca from the address on the account, with the order number, or use the contact page. You do not have to give a reason. We confirm the refund by email.
After 7 days, or after a course is completed
No refund. The pass gives immediate access to the full catalogue, and a completed course has produced a record you can report to BC Housing, so the service has been delivered. If something has gone wrong, for example a course would not play on your device and we could not fix it, tell us; we handle those on their facts.
Founding passes (until 2026-11-30)
While the catalogue is still being released, the checkout shows how many of the 12 courses are live on the day you buy and the date by which all of them will be. Courses released after your purchase are added to your pass at no extra cost. A pass bought before 2026-11-30 can be cancelled for a full refund at any time up to that date, or within the 7 days above if that is later, as long as no course has been completed. The deadline that applies to you is printed in your contract copy.
Company plans
Each seat is treated separately. A seat can be refunded within 7 days of the order if that seat’s holder has not completed a course. If refunding seats drops the order below three, the remaining seats are re-priced at the single pass rate and the difference is deducted from the refund.
Renewals
There is no automatic renewal unless you expressly opt in. If you have opted in and are charged for a renewal, the same 7-day refund applies to that charge, running from the renewal date. You can turn renewal off at any time in your account before the charge.
Your rights under the Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act
A Builder Pass purchase is a distance sales contract under the Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act (British Columbia). Before you buy, the checkout shows our name and contact details, a description of what you are buying, the total price with GST itemized, that access is delivered online immediately, the term of access, this refund policy and the currency (CAD), and we email a copy of the contract to you immediately after purchase. If we fail to give you that information, or fail to send the contract copy within 15 days, the Act gives you the right to cancel within the periods it sets out, and we will refund you as the Act requires. Nothing in this policy limits those rights. Information about the Act is available from Consumer Protection BC.
Withdrawn courses and errors
If we withdraw a single course you paid for before you complete it, we refund that course in full. If we made a billing error, we correct it and refund any overcharge whenever you tell us, with no time limit.
